I wanted to use hydronic heat as we were not after just a warm floor but rather needed to heat the room also. Cables can be placed wherever heat is desired for customized heating zones and no leveling compounds are required which makes for a quick and easy installation. Uncoupling refers to the act of preventing any movement and stress that occurs in the subfloor from transferring through to the tile above thus preventing cracked tiles and grout. Ditra heat is the only system that provides floor warming and uncoupling in a single layer.
